Exopsure settings seems not to be good! 12.23 - mix: very small fonts. Not readable. Slides shoudl be full screen 12.25 - mix: very very very small fontss. Should really really befull screen (fixed, not readable either) 12.31 - mix: Should be shown in full screen, authors of the shown paper are hard to read 12.35 - cam: Nice framed, could be a tiny little bit more nose room. exposure not good 12.39 - audio sometimes not properly mixed (not just dry audio from the speaker) 12.41 - cam: very nice framed, although expore not good 12.45 - talk ends 12.45 - next talk slides 12.45 - some noise form an oopen microphone 12.45 - pause slides and sound --> * Not streaming screen output before talk has begun * Check exposure settings * Possibility to remote control exposure settings, colour temp, ... may be could be corrected by mixing angle or my be a new angle. So the camera angle can focus on framing, field of view and focus. Maybe like to curves tool in Photoshop to adjust hue, brightness, colour ... _____________________________________________________ -------- Designing PCBs with code -fabi- -------- 12.59 - herald introduces the speaker and talk (no direct audio from herold!!) 12.59 - audio: some smacking audio noise 13.00 - speaker starts the talk 13.02 - mix: don't understand this super source composition - slides are toooooo small to read anything, speaker is too small 13.03 - mix: fixed by showing full screen slides 13.05 - cam: could be a little but narrower 13.05 - audio: no signal for 1..2 seconds 13.06 - cam: also framing is nice, for my opinion it's too wide for pic in pic 13.16 - cam/mix/stream: interlacing artefact visible when person walks 13.18 - herold audio too late 13.20 - cam: focus right on herald? 13.21 - mix: herald is speaking - video is on speaker 13.22 - talks ends 13.22 - pause slildes and audio --> [Conclusion here] * Check camera settings right before to ensure they are equally set (exoosure, colour, ...) * At 13.06 with pic in pic, there is just imoportant information in the right end of the camera picture. maybe it#s possible to cut out the left empty space. One could see more of the slides without loosing any important details of the camera image. _____________________________________________________ ------- History and implications of DRM [usr16549] ------- 13:40 - herald viewable 13:44 - introduction of talk topic 13:45 - speaker introduction 13:45 - talk starts 13:45 - shaky camera. speaker out of frame on time. headspace slightly too large 13:46 - good camera tracking 13:47 - camera tracking of speaker still a bit shaky 13:48 - due to high speaker movement, might consider swithing to slide-fullscreen - on the other hand, due to very limited content on the slides, might consider full screen speaker (wider aspect)? 13:52 - speaker walks partly out of frame. see point above 13:54 - might consider reducing headspace 13:56 - might consider swithing to slide full-screen 13:57 - speakers' arms are clipped 13:57 - still no switch 13:58 - strange switching of camera (same cam setting) 14:01 - headspace is much improved 14:04 - finally switched 14:07 - switching to speaker would make significantly more sense 14:09 - talk ends - switch to full-screen - switch to herald, but speaker speaking (to be fair, speaker intervenes in heralds speaking) - speaker halfway in frame 14:10 - herald partly in frame, might consider zooming into speaker 14:12 - good camera tracking 14:13 - audio problems - heralds head cut off - herald partly in frame - heralds head cut off 14:15 - might want to zoom into speaker, as herald keeps walking into frame - then again, speaker has quite the expressive hand gestures 14:16 - good camera switch 14:17 - end of Q&A 14:18 - stream paused - slighly quick to pause, as speaker was cut off mid sentence ------ Net neutrality enforcement in the EU [usr16549] ------ * the speaker does seem to have quite the preference for side-by-side preview 14:26 - herald visible 14:27 - speaker/talk introduction 14:28 - talk starts 14.28 - speaker audio muffled 14:29 - side-by-side preview with a camera which is not zoomed in enough (applies to the whole talk) 13:30 - either the camera should be zoomed onto the face of the speaker, or the slides should be visible full-screen 14:31 - same as 14:29 14:32 - good switch; speaker points to slide -> side-by-side 14:33 - might want to zoom into frame and adjust camera angle, as there is quite some headspace 14:35 - might want to switch to slides, as some of the text is reasonably small 14:37 - strange switching 14:38 - still no switch to full slides. the speaker does not add to the audiences experience at this stage 14:42 - black background is having blocking artefacts (might be the laptop) 14:43 - switch to speaker seems unnecessary 14:46 - the headspace critique still applies 14:52 - good switch to full slides 14:55 - good switch to full slides 14:57 - talk ends 14:58 - switch to herald, then to speaker; speaker walks out of frame. [camera coordination?] - headspace in new shot significantly improved. 14:59 - end of Q&A 15:00 - stream paused - it might have been better to pause slightly earlier, as the herald was cut of mid sentence [not relevant to the talk, though] ______________________________________________ -------- Open Source Estrogen [Candoshi] -------- 15:15 Herald visible 15:16 Herald introduces topic 15:17 Talk begins 15:18 slides only view => good 15:22 side by side preview => all fine 15:25 good switch from side by side to speaker only and then slides only 15:27 maybe to much switching between full speaker view, side by side or slides => side by side and full slides would be enough? 15:31 good switch to full slides because of small text 15:35 bad, small text on slide and not switched to fullscreen slides 15:44 sometimes to short time on full slide view 15:47 talk end 15:47 Herald comes then Q&A 15:47 Q&A sound good 16:13 Q&A end 16:13 Stream paused --> Conclusion SOUND: all fine VIDEO: good switching, good light/exposure setting, sometimes to short on slides _____________________________________________________ -------- UPSat - The first open source satellite Michos -------- [16:30] herald introduces the speaker and talk [16:31] speaker starts the talk [16:31] nice switch between herald and speaker [16:31] short audio drop-out [16:35] nit: the two small white blips from the Phasenprüfer at the bottom are a bit disturbing, zooming in a tiny bit would have been nice [16:58] Talks ends, Q&A starts, Hall Mic 1 was opened a bit late --> really nice framing in side-by-side preview, really nice switching between slides, speaker and side-by-side overall, super well done! Nice cuts and framing _____________________________________________________ -------- Running GSM Mobile Phone on SDR Yao "Meow" Wei -------- 20:59 Herald introduces the speakers and the talk 21:00 Speakers start the talk 21:02 The slides seems have many texts, and sometimes small: Could use full-frame on slides often then side-by-side preview afterwards before new content coming up. 21:04 Stream pauses for buffering (computer problem?) 21:08 Slides show a diagram which is probably better using full-frame. 21:11 The text on the slides is probably too small for streaming audience with smaller video. 21:12 The diagram is shown full-screen. 21:14 The screen goes back to side-by-side preview 21:19 Small text and diagram: better use full-frame on slides. 21:21 The slides have broken text... 21:25 A man walks by the podium... 21:25 The diagram is really small... full-frame is better in that situation. 21:25 Speakers are doing live demo with terminal. Full-frame is used though the text is still small in full-frame. 21:30 The speakers start the Q&A section. 21:30 Herald ends the Q&A section due to lack of time. 21:30 Talk ends. Stream pauses. --> The slides has many small texts and diagrams. Better use full-frame and picture-in-picture when the bottom-right of the slide is empty. _____________________________________________________ -------- Electroedibles -> Electrolickables Yao "Meow" Wei -------- 21:46 Herald introduces the speakers (candymakers!) and the talk 21:47 The speakers start the talk. They changed the topic of the talk. 21:49 One of the speakers has little to no sound to the stream. 21:52 Video is shown in the slides. Better use full-frame on the slides. 21:54 Close-up camera is shown in full-frame. 21:56 Close-up cam glitched. 22:00 Close-up cam. The sugar syrup leaked to the top of the IH heater... 22:03 Solder is shown. ...wait is that lead-free!? 22:08 Close-up cam stream glitched. 22:10 The woman speaker walks around. Possibly full-frame on the slides could be better. 22:11 Close-up cam glitched. 22:13 The speaker starts the Q&A session. 22:14 The speaker seems trying to find a slide on the laptop? 22:16 The audiences are shown on the camera for taking candies. 22:16 Talk ends. Stream pauses. --> Extra care must be taken to use close up cam because the audience can be easily filmed. --> The close-up cam seems to be not under VOC's control? --> On a side note of food safety: I am worrying about the solder and lead in this talk. _____________________________________________________ -------- Extended DNA Analysis jungfranckianer -------- 22:29 Herald intoduces speaker 22:29 talk starts 22:30 PiP went into slides after the first change. Better to try a few slides on fullscreen 22:30 good to be long in fullscreen as it has a schema 22:31 PiP looks good here, maybe more centered picture of speaker would be good 22:32 next slide was again not good for PiP 22:36 good to stay on the slides as it is not sure, whether this one has more bullet points 22:38 short break of audio !! 22:49 good descision for PiP at the end of the slide 22:51 long time of slides, but this is due to the nature of lecture 22:53 herald opens Q&A 23:00 finish and total view with some heads in. Conclusion: This talk featured slides with much text/schematics, which build up dynamically. PiP seems like a good concept to cope with that as the slide's content is as large as possible, but the speaker can be seen from time to time. The mixing had sometimes the problem that PiP was used from the beginning of the slide and then the speaker -------- Es sind die kleinen Dinge im Leben II jungfranckianer -------- 23:15 herald starts 23:16 Totale showed some heads. 23:17 talk starts 23:17 slides on fullscreen 23:18 preview mode, still okay, speaker is captured okayish, as he moves not to much. 23:20 good for fullscreen 23:23 speaker talks a lot, so fullscreen is good. 23:25 Preview mode is good, as it shows the speakers motivation and slides 23:31 good switch on new slide 23:35 Side-by-Side adds no value IMO 23:36 slides not shown 23:42 last slide could be there a little bit longer 23:43 short fail when only speakers pult was shown 23:43 herald starts Q&A 23:46 finish Conclusion: This talk featured some pictures on the slides, which where interesting but also a quite motivated speaker with some facial expressions, which made it valuable to show. The preview/super-source mode was used often mostly as a good way of composition. The camera did a good job on holding onto the speaker, so he was not cropped. At the end, some minor slips happened, e.g. using side-by-side with no additional value, one slide, that was not shown, an empty speakers pult when maybe the herald should be captured, which spoiled the otherwise very good performance of mixing. -------- Public FPGA based DMA Attacking jungfranckianer -------- 00:01 herald starts, as well as speaker 00:01 start with fullscreen slides, ++ 00:06 a lot text on the slides, so good to show it longer 00:07 good switch to speaker closeup here. 00:08 could switch to preview/supersource mode a little bit earlier 00:11 Handy cam could be switched away, but I do not know whether it is under control of mixing angel 00:13 Capturing/cropping of speaker in supersource mode ist good 00:26 herald starts Q&A 00:31 herald finished Conclusion: The mixing was done well, the preview/supersource is here also a good solution. The cam for the demo was not necessarily in control of the mixer, but worked out well enough. ------------
