Debian GSOC 2019 Kickoff Agenda
- Agree about the rules of the debian participation
- - Debian isn't an umbrella organisation again
- All projects must have a preexisting connection to the Debian project.
- - Every mentor has a connection to debian
- All projects must have at least one mentor with a formal affiliation to the Debian project or be widely recognized as a contributor to the Debian community
- All projects must have 2-3 mentors, the 2nd and 3rd of which do not need to have formal connections to the Debian community.
- - Mentors are only mentors for one project
- Applies to mentors and co-mentors
- - Every project is debian related
- All proposed projects must directly relate to Debian and fit into the pre-existing work of a Debian team.
- - We do set a list of requirements in advance of the selection process
- Set a first timeline for next steps
- Determine cross-participation with Outreachy
- Proposal: Require all GSoC projects be cross-listed as Outreachy projects during concurrent rounds
Tables for next time
- Talk about (re)moving project ideas that don't match the rules
- Agree about sending some kind of announcement to dda
- Think about what other teams we'll need to coordinate with
