OIdea:
- there was a discussion on irc on possibly announcing a chaostreff in SF
- bill pollock seems to want to run a hackerspace in his basement.
- possibly combine those 2 things
status:
mc.fly talked to bill. Bill likes the idea a lot.
why this pad?
- store and coordinate ideas
ToDo:
- #2 meet with bill document the space
Howto Pad:
- add the name to the participants list (so if you change things people can determinate by the color who did it)
#1 talk to bill
talked to bill on the phone - Yay!
he is in germany and will be back in SF on tuesday.
i talked to him for around 10min, we were both in a hurry
i till talk to him again today evening.
bill wants _no noisebridge_ but he would like a ccc alike thingie.
it has some restrictions but he likes the idea.
he wants a focus on what i think you call STEM - science, technology, engineering. math...
no occupy
there will only be a tea kitchen
you can meet at his old room so far.
"if nothing else it can be used as a starting space."
he likes the idea of a more inclusive space, not open to everyone.
and he wants to be part of it
and yeah, no noisebridge, no drama.
Questions:
- What do we need to make a chaostreff happen, vs what we need to make a hackerspace work with bill? What are the dependencies of each?
- chaostreff and bill's space are independent. it seems to be a good point to start as location.
- bill likes the CCC and goes to Congress every year
- it could be a ccc meeting at the hackerspace or
- it could be a ccc meeting running the whole hackerspace
- it needed to be paid attention that a local group would not run into bill and bring tons of drama to bill (the attraktor situation)
- Policies to address situations that lead to drama?
- (I largely left Noisebridge because someone yelled at me to try to get me to lift a block I had regarding Mitch as ED - I wanted the next generation to have involvement while the previous generation was still active and interested, but the manner the discussion went down forestalled the entire discussion.)
- Fauxminists, hippies and other attempts for a specific interest to exert arbitrary control over others
